ISLAND MEME SUBVERSION: DAY 6
Well, you did it, enough of you switched votes from the Ornate to the Gos and got rid of it. Shame on you. Harlot will come for you in your sleep now, you know. Oh, and the bat falcon was also voted out.

(Albidus subspecies of the northern goshawk, from Siberia)

Today is subspecies and alternate plumages day! Woohoo! This should be fun.
Hawks and eagles:
1. Red-tailed Hawk (Rufous morph)

2. Red-shouldered Hawk (Pale morph, Florida)

3. Harris' Hawk (Sonoran - larger but no other visible difference)

4. Ornate Hawk-Eagle (No photos of other subspecies available)

5. Golden Eagle (Mongolian - no visible difference)

Falcons:
1. American Kestrel (Bahamas)

2. Merlin (Prairie)

3. Gyrfalcon (White morph)

4. Aplomado Falcon (Andean)

5. Lanner (African)

As always, vote for your least favorite bird!
[Poll #1615298]
Also, as a side note, I think this may be one of my favorite photos, ever:
Hunter, eagle, bus

Here, check these two out, this (http://www.birdskorea.org/Images/images2008/12/Northern-Goshawk_BH.jpg) is the east Asian subspecies, and this (http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t38/corny132000/adultalbidusdarkmorph.jpg) is the dark phase albidus, also called powder-blue. Goshawks are so pretty. *_*

The albidus looks a little derpy, but I think that's just the photo.
Dude, you need to get one of these. NO EXCUSES.

And here (http://i546.photobucket.com/albums/hh439/rossdirksdvm/100_0638.jpg) is some death-by-gos from a white phase. Man, I really want one. Probably one of our native birds with the red eyes. Someday when I live closer to things I can hunt with them, since they basically have to kill things every single day or they start getting really pissed off and will attack you. No joke.

SO. FREAKING. PRETTY. Esp. the Japanese guy's one.

Yeah, I love those birds. I don't want to know how much they cost, though.
