Yes, you heard me right. Aside from a very few small details, we've finally finished losing the game that we've been working on for nearly a year now. Tons of research and writing and time has gone into making this game, and we couldn't be prouder. All we ask now is for you to give us a couple days to finish reading over and posting everything, and then Wednesday we will begin a beta period where those of you wishing to help out are invited to read through everything and point out bits that are confusing, erroneous, or simply in need of elaboration (or trimming). Once that's done and the edits have been made, we'll be opening for reservations. Finally! So if you know who you want to play already, start writing that app, and if you don't know, start thinking about it! And then come join us on the best little asteroid in the whole solar system.

Okay so for those of you who I told the date of the winter OFA meet to, it has changed - it is now Sunday, January 31st. Not the 30th. Exact location TBA, but it will be somewhere around Corvallis. It is a one-day meet, so Melissa, as I said, no worries about housing unless we want to turn it into an event of sorts, if we want to do stuff around the Corvallis area on Saturday or Monday I suppose.

EDIT: I FINISHED CHURCH'S PROFILE PAGE. Well for the most part. I want to add a picture still. BUT. That was a lot of typing. Now I just have to tune up Shadow's a bit and I'll be set.

As a note to prospective Aphelion players - no you do not have to write a history anywhere near as long as I have. Also, lines like Hometown/Likes/Dislikes were added just for fun and are not required.

So, Gogol Bordello were excellent. If the crowd hadn't been so annoying I would've enjoyed the first half of the concert far more, but oh well. It's a punk band; I knew what I was in for.

Apparently, at ToD's show in Seattle last night, some drunk guy threw up on the prints table and had to buy them all. Lawl.

Aphelion draws ever nearer to completion! I'm nearly done with the maps, Angela is working hard on the room descriptions, and after that, I have a couple other game images I'd like to do, and we have a few more intro things to write, but I suspect the game (that you just lost) will be ready to accept reservations by mid-November. Especially since my job is part-time and Angela just got laid off, fff. But of course, we'll keep you guys updated as possible. We may ask some of you who plan on playing to do a beta read-through of some parts of the site just so we can be sure that everything makes sense. I'm excited!

So yesterday I went over to Curtis' place (he's Wayne's other apprentice) and what was supposed to be a quick visit turned into us standing around for two hours talking about bird stuff. Man, when you get excitable bird people together, things get very bird-nerdy very fast, haha. Anyway, we had a good time sharing kestrel equipment ideas and experiments, and had much lulz swinging Wayne's falcon lure around, and omg his dogs are adorable, especially the puppy. August 22nd needs to get here sooner!

Other important discoveries of the past few days:

-RPing Church is seriously entertaining
-Mandy is awesome with Tex
-Aphelion is drawing ever closer to completion (though still a ways off because we have so much to write!)


AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, THERE IS A NEW ZOMBIE MOVIE COMING OUT NEXT YEAR. STARRING NOEL FIELDING AS THE ZOMBIE KING. HOW IS THIS NOT THE BEST THING EVER?



I mean, seriously. Seriously. I can't wait.

So. I'M BACK. FOR... well, probably not for good. But at least for a good long while. That's sort of like for good, right?

And might I say that I am very disappointed in you right now, PDX. Man, I come back hoping for sun and warm weather, but it was like 70 and cloudy the whole way. That's right, Portland has the same weather as the freaking coast right now. I know the heat wave sucked, but I was glad to be here for a few days in the middle of it. Hopefully it will get warm and sunny again soon. This sort of weather isn't supposed to be regular until at least September. :/

Anyway, now that the internet and I are acquainted once more, expect updates on Aphelion soon. That's right, coming soon to an internet near you, the long-awaited RP of mystery and intrigue and asteroid colonization that Angela and I have been planning for... a long time. I'm excited. I hope all of you are as well!

Related to this is that I need help testing my new character, so go talk to him if you want to. I can't say he'll be appreciative of the attention but that's too bad.

Oh, and beware spoilers in advance. He's pre-Reconstruction but I can't guarantee the content of comments to come. And there are some things in that show that one really should not be spoiled for.

Point Lookout is awesome. It would be more awesome if it didn't crash every ten minutes, but you know, that's Fallout 3 DLC for you. There's these weird swamp gas bubble things which are pretty cool, but going near them just about breaks my computer. Alas.

And then I found the RvB Caramelldansen and was amused for a good while. No dancing Wash, alas. And this in turn led me to Luke McKay's random sketches page. McKay is the staff cartoonist at RoosterTeeth, so I guess that makes his depictions of the characters at least semi-official, and I was pleased to see that I had pictured many of the RvB crew similarly.

I've begun doing some actual solid work on Aphelion, so hopefully it won't be too much longer before we have the comms in some sort of visitable stage, at which point we will open reservations. Exciting! Although I'm a little concerned that players I don't already know will think of me as the scary mod. I mean, look at the two characters I'm going to play there. Sheesh. Maybe someday I'll play someone nice again. XD;
