So, apparently it doesn't snow here. Except it did. On Monday. Two inches. Which I know isn't a lot for you guys in places like the midwest or the northeast, but two inches of snow is a respectable amount where I come from, and it is here, as well.

Naturally, I had to go spend as much time in it as I could before it melted (it was mostly gone yesterday, although there are still patches around even now in shady areas). Naturally, I had to drag Pele along with me. I think this is a thing for me. Making my birds experience snow, haha. They never seem to care. Although this snow was falling heavily enough (and wet enough) where Pele started out ignoring it and then eventually came to dislike being cold and wet, so we had to go inside, but in the meantime we had gone on a nice walk around campus.

A couple photos, for the curious. )

Going to respond to posts and maybe do a followup thing re: my weird shipping analysis at some point today. But first, I must re-post this XKCD for you. Because biology rules.

(Also, IT IS STILL SNOWING. WE HAVE 10+ INCHES. I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT TO THINK WHEN I LOOK OUT THE WINDOW ANYMORE.)

You may want to consider getting here on Saturday rather than Sunday. I'm seeing various weather stations reporting that we'll be getting a heck of a lot of snow on Saturday night, anywhere from four inches at minimum to ten inches max. I guarantee you that anything in that range will shut down the city, since we never get that much snow and are just not equipped to handle it. So. If you wait until Sunday to try and get here, I can't guarantee the buses will be running.

In other news, FOUR TO TEN INCHES OF SNOW HOW FUCKING AWESOME IS THAT!!!

Up until now, most of the weird choices they've made in deviating from the traditional legend have been either interesting or at least forgivable.

Now, though? aksdfasfha;klfj
