Up until now, most of the weird choices they've made in deviating from the traditional legend have been either interesting or at least forgivable.
Now, though? aksdfasfha;klfj
Okay, so I was ticked off when they named some random one-off knight Pellinore and then killed him a couple eps ago. Because if you kill Pellinore, you can't have the Questing Beast. Or, well, you could, but it'd be freaking weird. Besides, the Questing Beast is a symbol of the end of Arthur's reign, not Uther's. And you don't just kill it with a magic sword. It's the freaking Questing Beast. COME ON.
Speaking of naming one-off knights after important characters, who do you suppose the, say, five most important knights are? It's sort of subjective, maybe, but I'd venture it'd be something like Bedivere, Kay, Gawain, Lancelot, and Galahad. alsdgfaklgh YOU CAN'T CALL SOME RANDOM KNIGHT BEDIVERE, GIVE HIM FIVE SECONDS OF SCREEN TIME, THEN KILL HIM AT THE BEGINNING OF THE EPISODE. YOU JUST CAN'T. HE AND KAY HAVE BEEN AROUND SINCE THE LEGEND WAS CREATED. BEDIVERE GETS TO THROW EXCALIBUR INTO THE LAKE AFTER ARTHUR DIES. COME ON.
And one more thing. Now, I'm going to hold out hope here that maybe everything with this last bit isn't what it seems. Because Merlin DID NOT JUST KILL NIMUEH. NO. Of course, they've totally raped her character already, might as well get rid of her because they've made her Campy Season One Villain instead of, I don't know, Nimueh. You know, Lady of the Lake, foster mother of Lancelot, seducer and captor of Merlin, etc whatever else she does. You know. Everything.
The only way they can redeem themselves where she's concerned is to split her in two and have Nimueh and Viviane or Nineveh or whatever they want to call the second one. Malory did something like that. But. COME ON.
Okay. That's all. I'm gonna stfu now because it's snowing out and snow is pretty.
