1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the next 4 sentences on your LJ along with these instructions.
5. Don't you dare dig for that "cool" or "intellectual" book in your closet! I know you were thinking about it! Just pick up whatever is closest.

"Shortly after that we orbited at Sanctuary. I was glad to be there, as the ship's internal pseudo-gravity field had been off for most of two days before that, while the Chief Engineer tinkered with it, leaving us in free fall - which I hate. I'll never be a real spaceman. Dirt underfoot felt good."

Starship Troopers, Robert Heinlein. So very full of excellent, but then we all know I have a Heinlein obsession.

... Yeah, that's all I've got for you. I took pictures of Penny today but haven't uploaded them yet. Perhaps tomorrow. She did some very impressive hovering, though. If I'd known she'd keep it up as long as she did, I would have taken a video.

Also, what is with Canadians grabbing/bumping our speed skaters tonight? My goodness.

I guess I felt like I needed something to raeg at this morning, so I watched Jesus Camp. Was a little bit disturbed by the fact that I wasn't as horrified at it as I feel like I should be, but maybe I'm just apathetic. Some of those kids impressed me quite a bit, actually - it's cool how passionate and knowledgeable they are about something, and Levi the little preacher kid was something else, man. Like a mini-adult, and a better public speaker and speechwriter than many college-age students I know. I just... agh, if only they were passionate and knowledgeable about something other than Evangelism, you know? I guess that's the thing. If those kids were into anything else it'd be awesome, but instead they'll grow up and become the sort of people you read about in the papers and can't help but hate because of what they stand for.

On a totally different note, an online CD seller has a copy of Institut Polaire's EP The Fauna and the Flora and man, if it wasn't $17 bucks, I'd buy it right this instant. But instead I'm waffling, and probably won't end up buying it, even though it's pretty much the only one I've ever seen. Maybe I should just do like I did with Nico and see if the band has any mp3s they can send me in return for some delicious paypal. :/ Though I don't think I will. Unless I can't find their upcoming LP when it drops. If it ever actually does come out. It's been delayed by at least six months, now.

Also, I really really really want this book. A lot. And I think I need to get back into drawing already. I haven't done anything beyond little sketches for ages. I feel like I'm losing my artist cred.
