I think the beginning of the month is an excellent time to start a thirty-days meme, even if this is a 31-day month. I blame maypirate for suggesting it. Apparently I am easily suggestible right now.

Most of you probably know this by now. For some reason, I fell in love with "This Side" by Nickel Creek, oh, six years ago maybe, and adopted it as the one song I could listen to every day and never grow tired of it. It's just so beautiful and happy and wonderful and I can't help but love it. There are a lot of great songs out there, but this one is my song.

...Huh, you know, I'm not sure I did know that was your favorite song. I've heard it played often enough, so I know you like it, but... *shrug* ...I was gonna say I have no idea what my favorite song would be, but that's because I was thinking pop music. It's totally Dona Dona and always will be, I think. Dunno if you've ever heard me sing this; here's Joan Baez singing it. She sings it a bit faster than I do, and I don't start with the chorus, but she does a good version anyway... and knowing my mother, it's probably Joan she had in mind when she used to sing it to me.

Also, the guy who plays the mandolin in Nickel Creek totally looks like Edward Cullen in that video. Sorry if I've just ruined the song for you. D:

It turns up in memes like these fairly regularly. I don't know. Anyway, woo, I will go to watch that! I do love Joan Baez.

Fff, that is silly. No, you haven't ruined the song just because Chris Thile looks a little like Robert whatshisface in that one video. I actually only discovered that music video existed, like, a year ago, for some other music meme. Thankfully, Thile does not look like a sparkly vampire in real life.
