shichahnSo PAX East is this weekend. Rooster Teeth, as usual, had their Saturday evening panel in which they discussed things and answered questions and debuted the trailer for the as yet unnamed RvB Season 9, which is set to air starting April 1st as expected. I was not able to attend, but thankfully some kind souls (who will now be murdered by Jack) recorded and posted the current rough cut of the trailer to youtube.

You guys I am so excited for this. I can see why Burnie would have wanted to wait to show PFL backstory until he had the tools at his disposal to tell the story correctly, but with Monty on board, now he does. I've already seen criticisms popping up about "RvB isn't machinima anymore, it's just a movie!" and... who cares? Halo has always just been a vehicle for Burnie to tell his story, and this does that just as well if not better. Besides, it isn't like there is no machinima in it. This is a trailer. Trailers always show off stunning visuals and I can see why they would want to showcase more of Monty's work. I have no doubts that the majority of the season will be machinima simply because it is so much faster to do. My issue with Monty's custom animation last season was that it was used in lieu of plot, which was a letdown, but it looks as though that probably won't be the case in season 9.
And here is the part where I spazzflail because omg Director! ♥ omg York!!! ♥ Prequel stuff! North Dakota! TEX! I... you guys... this is going to be so much fun.
Also, is Dr. Church wearing glasses? Haha. Awesome.
