Current ratio of icons with Noel Fielding's face to icons without: very nearly 1:1. Three icon slots empty, to be filled with Noel Fielding's face once I get my computer downstairs to connect to the internet.

Oh dear me.

Speaking of Noel Fielding's face, I was making up nametags at work for some IT conference in Houston, and one of the guys attending was Gregg something of Oceaneering International. I smiled. Yeah, I don't think I'll ever take the name Gregg seriously again.

And then frowned when I made up a nametag for some official at Halliburton. I really wanted to mess that one up intentionally. But I didn't.

Watching Boosh DVD extras has been informative, by the way. Dar, when dressing up as the Moon, definitely try to keep the shaving cream from actually touching your skin. Apparently, having shaving cream on your face for hours will burn it pretty badly. Eeek.

Also, today was my last day at my temp job, probably ever. You have no idea how happy that makes me.

Ahahaha you've been on [livejournal.com profile] britishcomedy! :D I recognize those icons/usernames! You picked some good ones, I love the Richmond one, My Milky Lens! XDD

I need to post to LJ sometime, and upload some new icons. My ratio of icons with Noel Fielding's face will not be nearly as high as yours, but it definitely needs to be increased. My ratio of icons pertaining to British Television will probably be fairly alarming.

Also we had a meeting today and this dude came in with chinish length brown hair and a mustache and a paisley shirt and I immediately thought of Howard even though he didn't really look anything like him, and once I had that thought I couldn't make it go away and I had great difficulties for the rest of the meeting not laughing/staring at him.

...ALSO I know what you mean about contemplating sabotage. Every time I saw a claim from a certain Floridian town... : \

Yeah, there's a ton of really good ones. It was hard to choose. I'm going to make a bunch myself tomorrow too, I think. I took a bunch of caps from Old Gregg since I want at least one of him and one of the Moon, and then I couldn't help but take piles of caps of Vince so we'll see if any of those yield anything useful.

And omg yes, a paisley shirt, that would do it. XDD D'aww Howard. I need a good icon of him. ... My icons are just going to be all Boosh very shortly, aren't they. I feel like I need one of Naboo too at the very least.

Now, let's see if I can get this comment to even go through. (If you're reading it, success! Just assume it took about twenty tries.)

...Damn. If I had known today was your last day, I would have tried calling you after work. 8(

Well, there's always tomorrow? I'm about to go to bed or I'd say you could call now. Though I'm going to a movie tomorrow and I don't know when it gets out... hm. Well I can call you after or something, how's that?

That works, especially if it's out by 11 pm your time.

Yeah, I need to figure out what time it's on at. But expect me to call at some point around then probably. :o

Heyyy, you know what show you should watch?

Hey wow so my internet went out there for a bit again.

WATCH IT OH MY GOD.

Tell your internet to stop being a jerk. Also, I like how you are going to bed in a prompt and timely manner.

I REFUSE. 8|

Well you know how it is. The more I have to fight with the internet to get it to work, the more I get delayed in sleeping.

NO. Seriously. Watch it. It's like... well, a drug, only the best kind ever. A colorful musical drug that will make you laugh and laugh and only then do you realize how horribly addicted you are.

Go to bed, hussy.

But that requires effort and finding it online and baaaah.

Yeah yeah, going now.

And it's a shame, really, that the BBC is so on top of getting episodes deleted from youtube or it'd be all over there. Instead the BBC has a bunch of little mini-clips up which are entertaining if you've already seen the show but mean basically nothing out of context. You should just torrent it next time you get back home, it's really easy to get that way.

Good 8|

Maybe, if I remember. We'll see if I even remember to watch it, since I'll actually be doing important things this summer. :D;

Well yes I gathered that, but what sort of job?

From: [identity profile] shinyget.livejournal.com
A job that involves the corrupting of young children. 8| Aka being an assistant teacher for a private school that my mom works at.

General stuff, since it's going to be in summer. I'll probably be dealing with 1.5-3 year olds |D

Oh wow, I didn't realize they had private schools for kids that young. o.o Although... well, okay, thinking on it, all preschools must count as private school since I don't think the states fund anything that happens before kindergarten. Huh.

Anyway. That should be interesting!

That's not much of a surprise, they're basically unheard-of in the US. I only found out about them because I love The IT Crowd and there's a lot of actor crossover between the two shows.

To accurately describe The Mighty Boosh is impossible, but it's sort of... well, let's see. A surreal comedic double-act, like Monty Python meets Alice in Wonderland plus... oh, hell if I know. But it's fun, and funny, and probably the best thing I've seen in a long time.

If you're curious, I'd recommend torrenting the first season. It will seem very strange, at first. You won't get the first episode, most likely. You'll maybe start to get the second one. But by the third or fourth (and they're short) it'll start to click, and before long you'll have been hooked.

Well, that's how it worked for a bunch of us, anyway.

I should do that. I probably will after I finish watching Sonic X :D

... Your icon is funny and scary at the same time xD

A good choice. :Db

Yeah, sort of like the rest of the show. XD So many WTF?? moments... all of them awesome. It helps that almost every character is played by one of five people - they get very creative with costumes, ahaha. Like Noel as the moon with his shaving cream face.

The actual story centers around the two main characters Howard Moon (no relation to the celestial object) and Vince Noir and the fantastic adventures they have in a very strange and somewhat magical version of the general London area. But, man, if the story were really that straightforward and simple it wouldn't be anywhere near as interesting as it really is. It's one of those things that you basically just have to watch in order to get it. But I definitely recommend you do so soon, because if the Boosh do end up coming to America to tour sometime like they want to, then you need to have seen the show before then. And if you only get around to watching it after the tour is over, you'll be kicking yourself forever, much as I am kicking myself for only starting to watch it a couple months after their last UK tour. I would totally have flown over there just to see these guys perform.

I'll start looking for the torrents tonight 8D

Thanks, dude! :D
