Bears.
Now, I know what you're thinking. Bears? They're not serious, they're absolutely hilarious! Aww, cute cuddly little bears~ <3
No. Bears are canny, tricky creatures who clearly are a true menace to society. Don't believe me? Well. Next time you're walking down a path, perhaps a narrow hiking trail or some such thing in the woods, beware. Because bears have learned an important skill which likely serves them in obtaining food. See, sometimes those narrow forested paths have vegetation overhanging them, so you can't actually see the ground. But you know it's there, right, because there's a path there, so obviously you can just keep walking down the path through the ferns even if you can't see your feet for a few steps.
That, my friend, is where you would be wrong. Because the bears know you're thinking this, and they're already one step ahead of you. Beneath those ferns may be a cleverly disguised PITFALL TRAP IN WHICH YOU STEP AND FALL IN AS DEEP AS YOUR KNEE AND YOU'RE LUCKY NOTHING BROKE.
