shichahn: ([RvB] Asshole/Bitch OTP)

No luck yet. Total time spent searching Durham, Tigard, and Tualatin today: about six hours. Current plan of action: get up before sunrise, try again. My feet are sore, and I have a cold anyway. So, cheer me up. Bonus points for adorable fluff of my current OTP, but really, anything at all will do so long as it is lulzy or otherwise nice.

...Let me get a shower and I shall see what I can come up with, dood.

OH OH. While I'm thinking of it before I shower, not RvB related but it always makes me laugh. Idk if you've read it before, but here you go.

Yes, I have read that. But I will read it again. It is just that awesome. XD

I am now searching through my random collection of bookmarks for things I have forgotten about that are potentially lulzy. Like this!

... That looks fascinating. I will investigate when I've finished listening to today's Drunk Tank.

Got it. |D There's also this game, which I'm sure you've seen at some point. Oh, and Kingdom of Loathing is always good for some laughs, while I'm linking to browser games.

...Man, you have pretty much all the awesome RvB stuff. I shall use your Drunk Tank time to find something RvB that you haven't seen before! 8| Or I'll draw stick figures of Tex and Church, idk yet.

Entertaining people is so much easier over the phone, pffft.

Ehh, Kingdom of Loathing is really boring to me for some reason. Anyway, I don't need nonsense time-wasters, I just need happiness. In bottled form. Or possibly animated .gif form. Or something.

I can't make animated .gifs, but let's see what I can make in Photoshop!

...Only kind of? 8( I thought I captured the essence of their relationship quite well.

Haha, okay. It is awesome. Do you approve of the wording now? XD Also it is completely in-character and they are even color coded! Except Church has no hair on top of his head for some reason, lawl.

I'm not sure whether my favorite part is the dead guy on the bumper or the golden FWOOSH! that is Tex leaping up to smack Church.

Date: 2009-09-23 04:17 (UTC)
From: [identity profile] shinyget.livejournal.com
Hell yeah! I totally forgot about his hair, wow. Maybe I will have to do another comic to explain his sudden baldness. 8D; PROLOGUE.

Personally, I like the brush I found for the effect of Tex smacking him. And the fact that I made one of her eyebrows angry and the other all "huh?" in the first panel. I've been trying to do that to my own face since then, but I am not that skilled.

4chan did something good again. Threads about how humans are so fucking BADASS and TERRIFYING all the alien races are SCARED SHITLESS.

Excellent excerpts:

"Humans took a long time to fully develop methods of preserving history, and so much of their past is only remembered by what methods of war were currently being waged and what ores were in use for weapons."

"It doesn't matter what weapon you use against the humans, within [ten years] they'll be using it against you at a scale you could hardly imagine."

"Our intestines house microbes that- if one manged to get out to the rest of our body- would make our existence as living organism forfeit. These microbes exist to make it easier for us to pass waste."

"We injected what would be a lethal dose (about a human measurement "gram") of C8H10N4O2, a known poison, only to find that it made the humans more lethal in combat! It wasn't until after the war we found out that C8H10N4O2 acts as a stimulant, and is present in many of their beverages."

"We all know of their tenacity, but I am far more disturbed by two virtue concepts that humans hold in high respect: "love" and "hope". The former has seen some discussion in public media as of late; a form of instinctive, unconditional blood oath ingrained into all manner of social relationships. But the latter is even more terrifying; it is the conscious, irrational choice to focus on improbably optimistic potential results. I can't make this shit up."

"You know what freaks out the established powers the most? There are, at this time, around twelve billion humans living in Sol, distributed among various off-Earth colonies and of course Sol III itself. By galactic standards, this puts them somewhere in the middle of the margin of error. Galactically speaking, humans are EXTINCT, and any humans that aren't are just statistical aberrations. Any race that is statistically extinct has NO RIGHT TO BE A FUCKING MAJOR MILITARY THREAT. I mean, by the spawning pool, if you put a single human to every star in the galaxy, you'd run out of humans before you ran out of stars! How have they DONE THIS TO US?"

"They... they WRITE THEIR LANGUAGE on DEAD PLANT CORPSES. What the fuck, humanity? What, seriously, what?"

"Dude, someone tried to tell me that humans can actually set OPEN FIRES outside of laboratory conditions. I mean, I know that's impossible, nobody could live in that kind of environment, but...jeek, just the thought makes my scales gray."

"I've figured out why humans are the way they are, it's their lengthy gestation period. I was serving in a freelancer company out by the [Horsehead Nebula], and one of our ground-pounders was a human. So, we're sitting in the belly of a dropship, all worried about the thundering explosions outside when we get the red signal. It's time to fight. We're doing final diagnostics on our suits when our squad-head shouts, “Are you ready?” And the human shouts back, “I was born ready!”"

"One of the greatest ironies of the universe is that, despite their inherent military superiority to all other species, a vast section of human literature, particularly a genre they call "sci-fi" includes the theme of humans being vastly outmatched by older and more technologically advanced species. This is a trope that is repeated in practically all forms of human media, particularly in what humans call "video games".
...There is something terrifying about a people that have to make-up a species tougher than themselves just for the sake of having something "challenging" for entertainment."

These are absolutely brilliant I have to read them all. A member of the species that is the greatest military power in the galaxy and I can't stop laughing.
