Okay. Some kid in some school in Ohio is being charged with a felony for getting a bunch of his friends to hit "refresh" on the school's web page, slowing down the school's server. So what happens? ::laughs:: This stupid crime was Slashdotted, as was the school's web page. So instead of a couple kids slowing down the server, several thousand mischievous nerds like myself went to the website to get revenge for the kid. The server's bandwidth is now completely shot. XDDDDD And the prosecutor's website probably will go the same route very soon.
I just thought that was hilarious.
Edit: Yep, we just killed off the prosecutor's site. We may have slowed or killed the city of Canton's entire server in the process. Poor things, they never saw it coming. XD
Edit 2: Yes, yes we did. cityofcanton.com is no longer functional.
Edit 3: (Over a day later) Well, looks like the city restored their site, but I'm kind of concerned about the damage we appear to have caused to the school's page. ::laughs:: Whoops. Oh well. If they crashed after only 900 hits, then they totally deserve it.
